Fused deposition modeling
Fused Deposition Modeling or FDM is a technique of additive manufacturing which uses as starting material filaments of plastic material. The filament is extruded through a nozzle which heats the material until it is brought to the fusion temperature.
The nozzle is moved so as to deposit the material and build the product layer by layer. The wide range of starting materials allows to produce parts with special characteristics.
The parts produced by FDM have a resistance superior to other prototyping techniques and particularly low production costs.
